Paul, Managing Partner, has been involved full time in business brokerage since 2007. He has consistently been a deal-maker with many completed transactions to his credit. Mr. Saah has sold mid-market and main street businesses both large and small. He has successfully represented business sellers in Michigan and has experience working with both domestic and international buyers. As a successful business intermediary Paul remains active with his clients after transactions are closed. He regularly refers past clients as both potential sellers and/or interested buyers. His completed transactions cover a broad range of industries including healthcare, manufacturing, distribution, service, B2B, Printing and e-commerce.
Prior to entering business brokerage, Mr. Saah spent twelve years in Finance in the public and private sectors but primarily in the Automotive Industry. He held various positions including: Senior Accountant with City of Detroit; and various Financial and Managerial accounting positions with General Motors: Corporate Financial Policy and Reporting Group, Service Parts Operations (SPO) and Manufacturing Finance with Metal Fabrication division (MFD); and Financial Controller of Axson North America Inc. With decades of experience in operating businesses, Mr. Saah brings a rare understanding of and sensitivity for business owners as they address ownership transitions and exit strategy. Paul received a B. S. in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from Wayne State University in Detroit and an M.B.A in Finance from the Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan. Paul resides in Okemos, Michigan with his wife Elna and their three children.
Prior to joining Century Doug Carr has a broad and deep range of business experience. Serving 10 years as Chief Executive Officer of a seven hundred member trade association with a twenty member Board, Doug managed seven direct reports and was responsible for negotiating contracts for all outside services and member service programs. He was awarded the Certified Association Executive Award in 2001. Doug was also the Vice President of Marketing for 10 years at another statewide trade association with several thousand members. In that role, he was instrumental in the creation of an energy program during a period of deregulation in Michigan. Mr. Carr also launched a workers compensation program requiring a series of critical negotiations with a variety of partners in the insurance industry.
Rounding out Doug’s technical depth came when he invested five years of his time as a partner in a technical services company. This venture provided web and networking services to a diverse client base of small and medium-sized businesses. Doug Carr’s roots in his early career involved 10 years working as a marketing consultant in the direct response industry. He was influential in the implementation of large-scale database-driven customer retention and loyalty programs. He is an alumnus of Michigan State University. With nearly 40 years of experience in the business world, both in the corporate setting and in private industry, Doug has negotiated hundreds of contracts. He has the capacity and wisdom to bring together multiple disparate parties into successful mergers and acquisitions.
